Wake up, poor translators! It is not morning but middle of the night, that's why you need to wake up and go to sleep.

I guess I should.
Keep the translation sloppy if the original is sloppy.
Just seeing such texts coming out my pentip (or rather, fiingretips) is a torture.
Ya. I am waking up here.

即使不如实译出,起码也应该译为"three transfers and one reaction”。
| | | ysun United States Local time: 15:15 English to Chinese + ... Sometimes, it could be so strong | May 11, 2007 |

Steve,
According to my experience, sometimes, the wind in Beijing could get as strong as what the author described. However, most of the city walls and gate towers were torn down in Beijing when subway system was built during 1960’s. Young generations in Beijing would never have the "opportunities" to struggle through the gate towers during windstorms.

| | | pkchan United States Local time: 16:15 Member (2006) English to Chinese + ... Global Warming又一例? | May 11, 2007 |

Now that you mention it, it's coming back to me. Where we lived you'd feel less impact of the strong winds since there were no city walls nor gate towers around to contend with.

| | | ysun United States Local time: 15:15 English to Chinese + ...
