If there is anyone out there wondering why he or she does not get enough translation jobs, I have to say that there are too many factors playing the role. But, you can definitely eliminate the blockers one by one with your steady effort.
"Harmony Brings Wealth" is a great Chinese saying and should be on top of your to-do list. It is unlikely that a client would hire, or a translator would pair up with, someone who is so bitter and irritated, and likes to use harsh words on the peop... It is unlikely that a client would hire, or a translator would pair up with, someone who is so bitter and irritated, and likes to use harsh words on the people he or she does not even know well. I strongly suggest those who wish to write to the clients, or post messages here, should "measure" the words before putting them out to the public, and be a pleasant person to be around. As the Americans like to say, "Be a happy camper!" When you are not happy, it shows in your writing.
Another important clue for you is to improve your profile page at ProZ.com. Your profile page is the "front entrance" of your business. If you do not have a decent store front, how do you expect the customer would walk into your store? I expressed such thought to you numeral times in the past. Unfortunately, I noticed quite a number of you do not care about it, and left the profiles in blank or poorly done, resulted the visitors can not find much "nutritional value" in order to place the needed confidence in translators they visited. Please visit the profiles of the peers, and compare their profiles with yours, pinpoint what part of your profile needs to be improved, and then implement the improvement immediately.
In the translation business, the competition is getting severer than ever. Everyone is under the pressure and has to deal with the new challenges and make the suitable adjustment in order to bring the business flowing their way. There are many ways or options to meet the challenges and get survived in this business. I would like to see more translators take actions to carry a positive attitude and demonstrate their superb or above-average translation skills in KudoZ, Profile, Portfolio and translation jobs. Being negative is for sure not helpful for improving the situation.

老兄，如果有好的稿子不妨照顾一下我们这些国内同行。专利的文章我做过好几回，也是北京的法律咨询公司，转了几回才找到我帮他们翻译。质量在国内当然是一流的，这不是吹的。

我觉得 Kevin 说的几点意见非常好，这也是他成功的经验之谈。如果我们采纳他的忠告，事业定会进一步发展。
我觉得你马上可以做的一件事就是如他所说，“to improve your profile page at ProZ.com.” 否则你光说自己是一流的，人家未必会信。翻译社选翻译，有它的一套做法。等你做完这一步，待有需要时，我可以让翻译社与你直接联系。你们自己去谈，因为我对你确实还不了解。当然也不排斥我会请你先帮忙做一些小项目，待双方建立起相互信任之后，再逐渐做大的项目。我因为忙，确实推掉了不少项目。有位同行告诉我，这样不利于保留客户。我认为很有道理。
Chance 说得也很对，“不打不成交”。但只要大家彼此善意相待，不打也可以成交。

I might need some help from time to time. I referred two jobs to you and you had to pass them due to your heavy work load.
