谢谢你与我们分享你那些照片以及在上海、江浙一带的旅游经历。你的摄影水平确实与David不相上下了。不过，David的摄影侧重于艺术表现，而你的则侧重于新闻报道，奖杯不一样。;)
你那个nephew确实壮得像条铁牛，我看他应该改行去打橄榄球。;)
最使我触景生情的是上海的那些照片，尤其是淮海中路/黄陂南路附近的照片。你可知道，我的老家就在那一段淮海路上，而上初中时的中学就在黄陂南路上，就在中共一大会址马路对过。我的母校现在已经变成了一个公园，里面有一个很大的池塘，不知你有没有注意到。我每次去都要到那里坐一坐，缅怀一下以前的老师和同学。那些西式餐厅、酒吧、Starbuck咖啡厅等商店围绕着中共一大会址，形成了一幅奇特的景象。当年毛主席主张“农村保卫城市”。他恐怕绝对想不到，几十年之后中共一大会址又会被外国资本主义所包围。他若是地下有知，恐怕又会作出一首“天翻地覆慨而慷”之类的诗词。:)

李鸿章说过，对上海人的最高评价就是“你不像上海人”，上海人在国人中的形象有些负面，当然有些是偏见。除了你有时候说道上海老家的事情的时候，根本就想不到你是上海人，真的没办法把你跟上海人挂上钩。

国人对上海人是有些偏见，应该以全面的观点去看。上海人还是有不少值得国人佩服的地方。至于我本人，确实曾有不少人说我不像上海人。这大概跟水土有关吧？我少小离家去北京上大学，大学毕业后又去宁夏、兰州，后来又调回北京。一生中很大一部分时间都在中国北方渡过，工农兵学商都干过，性格有不小变化，但口音还是南腔北调。

For these wonderful pictures. Of all the scenic highlights in Hangzhou, 云栖竹径 is resting place for my soul. Many visitors to Hangzhou would have missed it whihtout realising what they have missed, but you reached deep into my soul. I will be posting some here to show the China I see, when I have time to dig some images out.

不知这属于西湖新十景的“云栖竹径”在哪里。但记得小时候常喜欢去黄龙洞玩，那里的景象与Kevin照的那些照片很像。云栖竹径是在黄龙洞附近吗？“宁可食无肉，不可居无竹”，几年前我在后院种了几根竹子，现在已经发展成了一大片，甚至“入侵”到邻居院子里去了！

Thank you so much for your overwhelming responses, feedbacks and compliments. I am very pleased to learn that you like those photos I took. I have long way to go to be a professional photographer. It is just a hobby of mine. David, please be sure to post your photos here. I was very impressed by your works you posted in the past.
This morning I added more photos after I had a nice sleep last night.

云栖也是我最喜欢的地方。初二时我们全班同学去那里野餐的。我到现在还记得当时我带的菜是三毛钱买来的蚕豆。
另外还有一条我很喜欢的小径是虎跑一进门的那条，走走很舒服的。

谢谢你的答复！我也很喜欢虎跑一进门那段路，走起来精神很爽，尤其是当游人很少的时候。在那儿还会遇到一些人挑泉水回家。前年去时，在那儿接泉水的人排起了长队，而且好像要收钱了。想不到，连这片净土都沾上铜臭味了，唉！
使我感到很温馨的是，我在杭州住的那家旅馆，在我生日那天专门派两个人送了个生日蛋糕到我房间来。那对我来说真是个surprise，因为连我自己都忘了那天是我的生日。;)
