如大家所说，原文第一句本身就有问题。不过on application of external forces应该等于upon application of external forces，即“在施加外力的情况下“，而不是”外力作用下。in correlation with是修饰relationships的，表示这种relationships由composition, texture and properties of the materials决定，所谓“内在本质决定表现形式”。
试译如下：
流变学研究是通过数学法和/或实验法以定量或定性方式进行，揭示的是在（对材料）施加外力的情况下物质应力、变形与时间之间的关系，这种（此类）关系与材料的组成、质构和性质相关。

不过这段时间发现google带“温”和“胡”字的术语或者词组，马上断网。可是科技领域带“温”字的术语和用语很多啊，真是......

如果方便，还希望能看到其他的具体网页。

老孙，你放心啦。我可没有其他的想法。而且，如果你有提示我的意思，我倒是觉得应该借鉴你这种婉转的方法，因为不是所有的人都能接受别人直接指出自己的不足。
不过，对于我来说，我更愿意对方直接指出来，免得有时候自己转不过弯来，还会一直错下去。
别人给指出来了，绝对会印象深刻，下次不会再错了。就像我们现在讨论的耐火材料。不定形还是整体，最后大家肯定能讨论出一个结果，那么无论是参与讨论的人，还是参观讨论的人，都会从中受益。
同时也再次对老孙的气量表示钦佩（因为我从来都是以平等的年纪和身份和老孙说话 ）。

曾经有个客户很认真地问我："etc”后面到底加不加"."，什么时候加什么时候不加。在他问我之前，我还真没有特别留意过。可是，被问到了，就不能逃了。

Monolithic Refractories 究竟是不定形耐火材料还是整体耐火材料？
老孙和诸位同行提供的论据还不足以说服我。
