Source text - Slovak Počas regulácie ponuky peňazí sa centrálna banka snaží uskutočňovať dva základné typy menovej politiky: reštriktívnu a expanzívnu menovú politiku.
Translation - English While regulating the supply of money, the central bank seeks to carry out two fundamental types of monetary policy: restrictive and expansive monetary policy. The central bank enforces an expansive policy if the economy is facing an unwelcome recession and it is essential to stimulate the economy. The effort is to get more money into circulation. This objective can be achieved by reducing the basic interest rates, by limiting the minimum reserves, or by the procurement of securities that are state-owned. If the interest rates decline, loans from the central bank will be more interesting for commercial banks and increased demand for central bank loans can be assumed, which means more money in circulation. Due to the increased demand for cheap loans, business and household consumption will increase, which affects the growth of aggregate demand, the growth of gross domestic product (GDP), employment growth and net exports, making it possible to consolidate the position of the balance of payments.
