Bio

Currently
I work as a senior translator/terminologist at the Translation Center of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia. In my work I deal with various
documents related to law, human rights, education, healthcare, news items, etc.
Last year I also founded the TranslateNow Online Translation Platform, which
operates on Facebook, providing online translation, editing and proofreading
services to customers. I also manage the Facebook page of the aforementioned
platform, writing different articles on communication, language and
translation. Before that I worked for over two years at NEWS.am
independent information-analytic agency, where I translated/edited
news items from Armenian or Russian into English, as well as from English into
Armenian. Apart from this, I administered the English page of the website and
managed the page in social networks. At the same time, I worked for a short
period at the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU), where I translated news
items for their website. I started my career as a translator/interpreter in the
two-year EU Twinning Project “Support to the State Revenue Committee for
Strengthening of Customs Control Procedures and Enforcement in the Republic of Armenia”.

Together
with my work I also manage learning on my own via Massive Open Online Courses
(MOOCs) and have completed a number of courses related to communication,
language and law. Before that I graduated from the American University of Armenia, Law Department (LL.M),
which gave me a good insight into the field of different laws (Human Rights,
Intellectual Property, Business Law, Tax Law, Contract Law, Administrative Law,
Public International Law, etc). Before attending Law School,
I studied linguistics and pedagogy at the Yerevan State Linguistic University.
Besides Armenian, which is my mother tongue, I am fluent in English, Spanish
and Russian, which I studied professionally. In addition, I am currently
studying Chinese at the Confucius Institute. Having over 5 years of experience
in the field of translation/interpretation, possessing five languages, having
graduated from a prestigious law school and Linguistic University, as well as
having a great interest in the field of communication, I hope to become a valuable
asset to your project.
