Hi

I have had Trados for about three years and haven't used T-Window for
Clipboard before. I use Word 97 and Trados 5.5.

I am using the instructions in the Help section of T-Window but
things are not working out too well. I right-click and "Edit
Picture". Then I highlight a text chunk, as the Instructions call it,
and try to copy it.

Hi

Sometimes, when I try to use Copy, I cannot, because it is greyed in.
Also, when I try to use Copy Target, it is greyed in, too. When I
paste the translation, only one word appears when there are two, as
the box for the text is small and I cannot enlarge it.I know the
second word is in there laughing at me, because I can just see the
Trados Tag.

I've had better days! Any help welcome.

Non-editable text? Jun 11, 2004

Hi Rob,
Can you copy and paste these text strings normally? Note that you cannot copy text that's part of a picture or graphics file. T-Window can only work on what you can actually copy into the clipboard.

I know the second word is in there laughing at me, because I can just see the Trados Tag.

What tag are you referring to here? Where do you see that?

Best, Ralf

Text difficult/impossible to edit Jun 11, 2004

Hi Ralf,

The main problem seems to be that the new translated text disappears in the boxes in the "picture". I found that out by just editing the picture in the original text; so you seem to be on the money with your initial reaction, "Non-editable text?"

I'll get back to the agency again.

Thanks for your help,

Robin

Resize the boxes Jun 11, 2004

If you can edit the picture in the original document and overwrite the text, then the text is probably editable, isn't it? I think you just have to resize the text boxes manually to see the pasted text or use a smaller font size, so that the text fits into the boxes without resizing.
