I agree with you, Kenny. However, I would peg the time period of this drastic deterioration to be only for about the last 30 to 40 years, commencing mostly after Mainland China opened up its society to the outside world.

Let's just focus on those classic examples of mistranslation. : )

I agree with you on this point, Steve.
IMHO, a valid time frame of the aforementioned language deterioration has to be based on direct observations and actual comparisons, rather than indirect specious reasoning.
