2008 Beijing Powwow will be held at 15:00-18:00 (Beijing local time; UTC +8), April 19th, 2008. The powwow organizer is Dominique Laurent - http://www.proz.com/profile/796328 and currently there are already 50 confirmed attendees.
The theme of this meet-up is free socializing and tips for newcomers. I'm sure some of the translators will share their tips with new colleagues. Do grab the opportunity!
I have set up a live broadcast schedule for the event. So no matter where you are, what you need is only a fast Internet connection to join us. Not only can you watch and hear what we'll be doing, but also type messages via a chat window for active interaction.
Hopefully it will be the first powwow that features a live show to the whole world. To participate, visit http://www.blogtv.com/Shows/40246 and click on "update me". When the show is on the air, you will get an email notification.
I'll also post in this forum when we are in business. But don't blame me if I forgot.
Best Regards,
Jianjun

Jianjun,
Thank you for sharing this wonderful news. I am glad that you can help with this event. I wish this POWWOW in Beijing a great success. POWWOW can bring the translators and interpreters face-to-face together and share their experiences and network with one another. Please try to catch this opportunity if anyone can.

Hello Ibone,
I'm not sure. But it's easy to solve. Let me fix the cam on my own face so it could be a one-man self-sporting gala show and get myself famous
Just a joke...
