Source text - English Google have released their latest monthly report on the antics of their self-driving car, and it appears to include a rather curious note on appropriate honking. Under a section entitled “Down with the tyrannical horn,” the engineers behind the futuristic vehicles explain how they are trying to teach their autonomous vehicle to honk politely and only when necessary.
“The human act of honking may be (performance) art, but our self-driving cars aim to be polite, considerate, and only honk when it makes driving safer for everyone,” they note, before explaining that they are continually trying to improve what they refer to as their “honking algorithms.”
Google’s self-driving car is, generally speaking, doing pretty well. Apart from crashing incredibly slowly into a bus, and having to swerve out of the way of a broom-wielding woman chasing a duck across a road in a wheelchair, there haven’t been any major incidents that may have threatened to derail the program.

Nunca pensei que eu fosse me apaixonar tão perdidamente por ninguém. Mas ele é especial. Um ser humano incrível, além de indiscutivelmente lindo. Parando para pensar no quanto eu o amo, é até estranho. No começo, o sentimento realmente me sobrecarregou, de tão intenso. E foi tão rápido! Eu nem mesmo estava procurando por alguém, estava feliz em minha solteirice. E então ele chegou com seu sorriso doce e coração tranquilo para contrabalancear meu excesso de energia. Quando dei por mim, estávamos morando juntos.

Assoviando enquanto caminhava, ele observava as decorações das casas, desviando vez ou outra de um grupo mais animado de pequenos monstros e fadas que corria pela rua.
Ao virar a esquina e entrar na rua onde morava, deparou-se com uma pequena aglomeração logo adiante. Curioso, foi se aproximando, tentando enxergar por cima das muitas cabeças. Luzes vermelhas e amarelas brilhavam intermitentes, refletindo-se nas paredes das casas.

Then the Humans can be placed: Jake may begin the game in the Office, the Bar, the Basement or the Garage; Sandy in the Pantry, Kitchen, Lobby or Room 224, and Manny in the Game room or Playground. Andrew Hann must be placed on his arrival track.
Objects are placed as follows: the mallets, two gasoline counters and the axe go in the Garage. The knife goes in the Pantry or Kitchen at the discretion of the Human player. One snowmobile goes in the Garage and the other on the “enter map” square of the Andrew Hann arrival track.

By all measures and standards, I'm a translator, but if you're reading this, chances are you already know that. "Translator" describes what I do, not what I am, and what I am is a wordsmith.
Like a bladesmith hammering away at hot metal, I know what my work should look like, to the tiniest comma and word placement. Am I forging an advertisement campaign, meant to entice? A journalistic piece with relevant knowledge? The subtitles for a knee-slapping comedy? The engaging words of a speech? Each of these require different bevels and grinds to truly get their point across. And knowing one from the other is what I do best.
Raise your hand if you have ever seen your language (or one of them, at least) misrepresented in a translated material. That expression from your day-to-day the translator missed, that poorly-constructed phrase that immediately had you imagining it with a funny accent, or simply that subtitle with excessive amounts of text and that flashes on screen so quickly you'd swear it was meant as a subliminal message.
Those are all things I pride myself in not doing, and firmly advocate against. I know what I like, so it stands that I follow my own standards. Any fool can cast a reasonably-shaped sword from a premade mold and then grind it so that it has a cutting edge, but when an artist makes himself known, people can spot the difference.
