The last work-related event I attended was a good 15 years ago. Anyway, after a strong marketing effort when I started translating circa 40 years ago, clients started to come to me by word-of-mouth referrals and I stopped chasing work as soon as I got a bunch of regulars. Now that I’m approaching the end of my career, some of those regulars still keep me busy, although less than on my ‘happy days’, but that’s life!
