The files are on a server which is backed up every day. They are then backed up to an external USB drive every week. Touch wood, I've never had to restore anything!

At the end of each day, sometimes even more often. I don't trust computers too much. Gudrun

I have a RAID1 computer which mirrors everything -- work files, programs, OS, etc. -- onto another hard disk in real time. If one hard disk dies for some reason, it automatically switches over to the healthy disk so that I can continue working and starts mending the sick disk. Ain't that cool! I also back up all work files to hard disk when I get the urge or somebody reminds me to, like I'm actually doing... Every time I close a file I copy it to an external hard drive, so I know the versions on that are as up to date as on my main computer. I certainly don't wait until the end of a project to save a copy.
