Thank you, Dylan. I had in mind the Glasgow Coma Scale score or the Coma/No-Coma (C/NC) categories from 0 to 4.

I would change the sentence a little, to make it sound more natural; rather than the coma becoming significantly less deep, I would use 'the patient showed signs of recovery from coma'
