Spanish term

documento regulador

My try of this section:

"At the request of the interested party, some ARTICLES OF INCORPORATION AND A REGULATORY GUIDING DOCUMENT of the Alliance between party ABC and party XYZ were authenticated"

However, I would like to know if there's a better translation than "Regulatory guiding document"

Discussion

philgoddard Mar 23:
I'd say alliance, since that's the word they've chosen in Spanish.
Manuel Aburto (asker) Mar 22:
Hi again Phil,

Maybe the English equivalent for "alianza" in this context is coalition (Coalition: The joining together of different political parties or groups for a particular purpose, usually for a limited time) according to CALD
philgoddard Mar 22:
OK And what is the 'alianza'? A joint venture, a cooperation agreement, or something else?
Manuel Aburto (asker) Mar 22:
Hi Philgoddard,

Actually, they are two documents, because they are mentioned twice along the document. Thank you for the observation.

They missed "(un) documento regulador"
philgoddard Mar 22:
Of course, it may just be a cooperation agreement rather a specific entity such as a joint venture (perhaps you could clarify this, Manuel), but my point remains valid.
philgoddard Mar 22:
Could this be one document rather than two?

It says 'documento', not 'un documento', which makes me think that 'acta constitutiva y documento regulador' could be better expressed as 'acta constitutiva y reguladora'.

If so, you could just say 'articles of association', which cover both the establishment of the joint venture (or whatever it is) and the way it operates. These wouldn't normally be two separate documents.

Spanish term (edited): documento regulador {de la alianza}
Selected

document governing (the alliance: Partnership Articles or Assoc. Agreement)

I doubt documento regulador is a term of art, rather a general label in the context.

I also have doubts, even if the two sides ABC and XYZ are corporates, that this - as a common misapprehension - contains Articles of (AmE) Incorporation (BrE) Association, rather the acta constitutiva is not a Deed, Record or (AmE) Instrument of Incorporation - but a Deed / (AmE) of *Formation* or Creation of a (Corporate) Partnership and the documento reguladors is Articles of Partnership (Partnership Deed I again have drafted) or an 'Association Agreement' that, in company law textbook terms, straddles a Company Shareholders' Agreement and a national-level Trading Arrangement.

alianza estratégica: strategic alliance + regular (la materia): to govern (the subject).

alianza estratégica: strategic alliance + regular (la materia): to govern (the subject), *both West*.
Example sentence:

Governing documents · Legal advisor · Bylaws · Policies · Other Governing Documents · Active Committees · Board Member Documents. Declaration: Code of Conduct

Articles of partnership is a contract that forms an agreement among business partners to pool labor and capital and share in profit, loss, and liability.

Peer comment(s):

agree philgoddard : They're political parties. This doesn't quite work in the context, but you could say 'a document establishing the alliance, and another governing its operation'.

Thanks Phil. I originally misread partidos as las partes. Alliance otherwise is, corporately, one down from a joint venture.
agree Robert Carter : Ok, just read the discussion. "...a charter and a document governing the alliance between..." (alliance, coalition, bloc, pact, all are in common usage).

Thanks and gracias, Robert. 'I originally misread partidos as partes. Alliance otherwise is, corporately, one down from a joint venture.'
