plans for land registry or explanatory purposes

I believe this is an improvement on the previous answers for the reasons I've mentioned.

Maybe "plans drawn up for" would be clearer in the context.

neutral Adrian MM. : > for the umpteenth time, it's not for the Land Registry even if the Garzanti entry for 'catasto' is land register, but for the Index Map or Land Survey Office cf. Conservatoria dei Registri Immobiliari or Ufficio di Pubblicità Immobiliare

cadastral map sheets or explanatory map sheets

The word 'explanatory' should be right here
Note from asker:
Thanks a lot Sabrina!
Peer comment(s):

neutral philgoddard : This is the correct meaning, but you don't need to repeat "map sheets", and "sheets" itself is redundant. Also, most people won't know what "cadastral" means.

You may be right regarding the redundancy, but for "cadastral" I have found occurrences, eg. here: https://www.icsm.gov.au/education/fundamentals-mapping/types...

title plan and title register

Il sistema catastale inglese è ben differente da quello italiano
Nel Land Registry si trovano due documenti che identificato una precisa unità immobiliare:
il Title register: contains a description of the property, its tenure, name and address of the current owners, purchase price (if bought after April 2000), name & address of mortgagee and details of other charges, covenants, easements, cautions, notices and restrictions.
Il title plan: shows a detailed outline of the property in relation to its surroundings, and often (especially with larger properties) has detailed and coloured markings referred to in the Title Register that illustrate rights of way, rights of access, watercourses (not drainage) and sections of land affected by easements and covenants. The general boundaries of the property itself are edged in red.
Peer comment(s):

neutral philgoddard : No, this is two different types of map.

land survey maps (BrE: index map searches) or ones with explanatory notes

The index map in the UK is based on Ordnance Military) Survey plans. 'Cadastral' is really a land survey vs. land registration system in civil-law countries, UK land lawyers and conveyancers referring unhelpfully to European 'cadastral registration systems'.

Example sentence:

earch the index map The index map contains information on all land and property that’s registered or being registered with HM Land Registry.

The index map contains information on all land and property that's registered or being registered with HM Land Registry.

Peer comment(s):

neutral philgoddard : This doesn't make logical sense - it's like saying "cars or red cars". The second is a subset of the first. Also, "ones" is too colloquial.

the ones are maps generally and you have still learned a new term, notably the index map that you ought to know from Italian and UK conveyancing practice.
