(Retrocardiac) thump

A precordial thump with the ulnar aspect of the fist is generally used to interrupt a potentially life-threatening arrhythmia. It seems this procedure was done to reverse an arrhythmia intraoperatively.

agree philgoddard : I think you should give references, though. The question is "Faustschlag", so this is correct, but precordial gets hits and retrocordial doesn't.

Thank you. I agree with you, though I do not think a retrocardiac thump is common practice. My inference is derived from the precordial maneuver
