German term

flachbogige Skoliosis

German to English Medical Medical (general) Orthopädie
The whole sentence:

Is this simply a skoliosis with a flat curvature?

Thanks for your help on this, as always!

German term (edited): flachbogige Skoliosis der LWS
Selected

mild lumbar scoliotic curvature

Using Steffen's wording which I feel is a perfectly fine solution (since he does not seem to propose an answer, himself).

agree Teangacha (X) : Or 'mild scoliosis of the lumbar spine.'

Thanks Irene :-) It seems you posted your addition at the same time as I posted my answer (it was not visible to me by the time I wrote this).
agree Steffen Walter : Nein, nein, ist schon in Ordnung so :-)

Danke Steffen :-) Falls du selbst posten willst, ziehe ich meine halbgeklaute Antwort zurück ;-)
agree Eleanore Strauss : yes, but scoliosis is not always lumbar as far as I know.

Mild C-Curve Scoliosis

There are two types of curved scoliosis "S-Curve Scoliosis" or "C-Curve Scoliosis"

The word "bogig" means "arched" which makes me believe that it is the "C-Curve Scoliosis"

"flach" means "mild" in this context.

Thus, "Mild C-Curve Scoliosis"

Anne and Steffen are correct to question this answer. I agree that it is not what you need.

'mild scoliosis of the lumbar spine' seems a much better option.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Anne Schulz : "Levo" means left(-turning) rather than light/mild here, IMO.

neutral Steffen Walter : According to the cited source, "levoscoliosis" indicates that the spine is curved sideways to the left. How do you equate this with "flachbogig" (which provides no indication of the curvature direction)? "Flachbogig" seems to refer to a mild curvature.
