Italian term

rilievo sulla norma giuridica

Italian to English Law/Patents Law (general)
Hi all -

I am translating a lengthy deposition which was transcribed and recorded.

I have understood rilievo as having vastly different meanings depending on the context.

During the proceedings the Judge says:

GIUDICE: Stavo facendo un rilievo sulla norma giuridica e volevo farlo anche verbalizzare, cioè lei non può continuare ad oltranza a fare domande mentre stavo puntualizzando sulla sua domanda, cioè penso che sia pacifica questa cosa, quindi andiamo avanti.

Any help with what the phrase means would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Michael

making a point on a legal norm

I asked an expert on legal terminology and used Treccani. Mind you, this is just one possibility among many formulas that can have the same meaning eg, 'pointing out a legal standard' 'stating a point of law', etc., which is why I am giving my answer a medium confidence level
