Wedding certificate
I am translating a friend's marriage certificate (the very first certificate of this type I have seen). One of the documents is entitled "Fede di matrimonio" and I am at a loss as to what this "fede" means here or how to translate it. It was issued by the church she married in.
Does it just mean "Certificate of marriage"?
Google does not help as "fede" + "matrimonio" just brings up wedding rings :(
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

: The asker herself says that it's a marriage certificate, so I don't see the problem. http://dictionary.reverso.net/italian-english/fede

Comment: "Thanks everyone.
for philgoddard, I was asking because I wasn't sure as I had never seen or heard this expression before and wanted confirmation. Isn't this the kind of thing forums are for?"
