Italian term

audizione in forma protetta

Italian to English Law/Patents Law (general) court hearing
I am translating a defence brief concerning a child. The child was heard in court by a prosecutor. The sentence reads: l'audizione in forma protetta della ragazza. I am not sure anything similar exists in the UK so I thought about " secure hearing of the child" .

Discussion

Yes, it's a forensic interview, not just a closed hearing. The child is probably a victim of sexual abuse, and is interviewed in a specially chosen environment with a child psychologist present. If you're going for that, could you close the question, please?

forensic interview Yes, this could be a good choice. However, if this is in court, which is usually a public venue, it might better be a 'closed hearing.' Your interpretation is what matters most.

forensic interview I have found "forensic interview"in a number of similar instances. I think I'll go for that.
