copias en "dito" o simplemente copia o duplicados

La fotocopia fue lo que vino a remplazar el dito, es otra tecnologia, de hecho las copias dito se hacian manualmente, si no me equivoco, con una tinta violeta.

fotocopias

Hi. I remember these! Here's a description. I don't know if there's truly a translation for this concept -- I would just say "fotocopias" at this point.

"Remember when, if you wanted to copy anything, you had to write it out by hand (I'm showing my age here)? Or later, when you could make one, or maybe two, copies using carbon paper?

Then over half a century ago, you could type or write painstakingly on a Ditto master and produce a limited number of copies in faint blue ink. If you made a mistake, it was curtains. I once entered the office of a friend who was just beginning to crank out a piece of music he'd spent the whole morning copying. Ink spilled onto the master, and both the page and the air turned blue.

Then there was the Gestetner. By typing or using a sharp stylus, you could cut images into the stencil tissue paper which, when attached to the drum of the machine, allowed the ink to flow through nicely on to the copy. If you made a mistake, you could paint on some white liquid to seal the tissue (sort of) and then type or cut over it. Sometimes this resulted in quaint looking blobs on the copies. Quite often the ink got on hands and clothes, as well as paper."
