Bio
I was born in Washington, D.C. to a French father and Canadian mother (both in the French Diplomatic Service at the time), spent my first 7 years in the South of France, the following 15 going to school and college in the US, the subsequent 17 years going to college and working as a civil engineer and entrepreneur in France, and the past 18 years back in the States, working as a free-lance translator.

I've got a relatively "neutral" (read: mid-eastern) American accent in English, but a pronounced meridional accent in French. Which of the two was originally my "native tongue" is still up for debate.

I firmly believe in interpretive translating (applying regional target language colloquialisms) as opposed to "transliterating", and I'm very good at it. If you're looking for 'word-to-word' translations, please look elsewhere.

Technical translations are my bread and butter, but I like literary work for dessert.
Keywords: technical manuals, automotive reviews, patents, advertising
