Source text - English The technical result achieved using the method is a complex of interrelated monitoring measures that include a control benchmark and deformation control benchmarks, along with optical geodetic devices and mobile satellite geodetic transmitters.
A state coordinate system is used at an initial stage to attach sites of the network to a local coordinate system.
Use of the method provides a decrease of time and labor for determining coordinates of portions of an oil pipeline for operational needs.
The method also provides simplification of procedures for communication, storage and transmission of data regarding a height of portions of oil pipelines, an increased precision of such measurements, and an increased rate of determining results regarding the current condition of the pipelines and their supports from the obtained data.

Source text - English Imagine that you’ve been unemployed and seeking work for months. Government benefit programs have helped you cover rent, utilities, and food, but you're barely getting by. Finally, you hear back about a job application. You receive your first paycheck in months, and things seem to be turning around. But there’s a catch. Your new job pays just enough to disqualify you from the benefit programs, and not enough to cover the same costs. To make things worse, you have to pay for transportation to work, and childcare while you’re at the office. Somehow, you have less money now than when you were unemployed.
Economists call this demoralizing situation the welfare trap— one of the many different poverty traps affecting millions of people around the world. Poverty traps are economic and environmental circumstances that reinforce themselves, perpetuating poverty for generations. Some poverty traps are tied to an individual’s circumstances, like a lack of access to healthy food or education. Others can affect entire nations, such as cycles of corrupt government or climate change. But the cruel irony of welfare traps in particular is that they stem from the very policies designed to battle poverty.
Most societies throughout history employed some strategies to help people in poverty meet basic needs. Before the 20th century, religious groups and private charities often led such initiatives. Today, these are called welfare programs, and they usually take the form of government-provided subsidies for housing, food, energy, and healthcare. Typically, these programs are means-tested, meaning that only people who fall below a certain income level are eligible for benefits. This policy is designed to ensure aid goes to those who need it most. But it also means people lose access as soon as they earn more than the qualification threshold, regardless of whether or not they're financially stable enough to stay there.
This vicious cycle is harmful to both those in poverty and those outside of it. Mainstream economic models assume people are rational actors who weigh the cost and benefits of their options and choose the most advantageous path forward. If those in poverty know they'll gain no net benefit from working, they're incentivized to remain in government assistance. Of course, people work for many reasons, including societal norms and personal values. But income is a major incentive to pursuing employment. And when less people take on new jobs, the economy slows down, keeping people in poverty and potentially pushing people on the cusp of poverty over the edge.
Some have suggested this feedback loop could be removed by eliminating government assistance programs altogether. But most agree the solution is neither realistic nor humane. So how can we redesign benefits in a way that doesn't penalize people for working? Many countries have tried different ways to circumvent this problem. Some allow people to continue receiving benefits for a given period after finding a job, while others phase out benefits gradually as income increases. These policies still remove some financial incentive to work, but the risk of a welfare trap is lower. Other governments provide benefits like education, childcare, or medical care equally across all their citizens.
One proposed solution takes this idea of universal benefits even further. A universal basic income would provide a fixed benefit to all members of society, regardless of wealth or employment status. This is the only known policy that could entirely remove welfare traps, since any earned wages would supplement the benefit rather than replace it. In fact, by creating a stable income floor below which no one can fall, basic income might prevent people from falling into poverty in the first place.
Numerous economists and thinkers have championed this idea since the 18th century. But for now, universal basic income remains largely hypothetical. Although it's been tried in some places on a limited scale, these local experiments don’t tell us much about how the policy would play out across an entire nation— or a planet.
Whatever strategy governments pursue, solving the welfare trap requires respecting people’s agency and autonomy. Only by empowering individuals to create long-term change in their lives and communities can we begin to break the cycle of poverty.

Source text - French L'eau est pratiquement partout, de l'humidité du sol aux calottes glaciaires, jusqu'aux cellules à l'intérieur de notre propre corps. Selon des facteurs comme le lieu d'habitation, l’indice de masse grasse, l'âge, et le sexe, l'humain moyen se compose de 55 à 60% d'eau. Ce pourcentage est encore plus élevé chez les bébés à la naissance. Composés de 75 % d'eau, tout baigne. Ils sont comme des poissons dans l'eau ! Mais la teneur en eau tombe à 65% dès leur premier anniversaire. On peut se demander quel rôle joue l'eau dans notre corps, et quelle quantité il nous faut en boire pour rester en bonne santé ? L'H2O dans notre corps sert à lubrifier et protéger les articulations, à réguler la température, et à nourrir le cerveau et la moelle épinière. L'eau n'est pas seulement contenue dans notre sang. Le cœur et le cerveau d'un adulte sont composés au 3/4 d'eau. C'est à peu près la teneur en eau d'une banane. Les poumons ressemblent plus à une pomme avec 83 % d'eau. Même les os, en apparence très secs, contiennent 31 % d'eau. Si nous sommes essentiellement composés d'eau et entourés d'eau, pourquoi avons-nous tant besoin de boire ? Eh bien, chaque jour, nous perdons 2 à 3 litres d'eau par notre transpiration, notre urine, l'élimination des selles, et même le simple fait de respirer. Puisque ces fonctions sont vitales, il nous faut compenser cette perte de liquide. Maintenir un niveau équilibré d'eau est essentiel pour éviter la déshydratation ou l’hyperhydratation, qui toutes deux peuvent être sources d'effets dévastateurs pour la santé. Aux premiers signes de faibles niveaux d'eau, des récepteurs sensoriels situés dans l'hypothalamus, envoie un signal pour la sécrétion de l'hormone antidiurétique. Quand elle atteint les reins, elle crée des aquaporines, des canaux spéciaux qui permettent au sang d'absorber et de retenir plus d'eau, ce qui se traduit par un urine concentrée plus foncée. Une déshydratation accrue peut provoquer des baisses d'énergie, des sautes d'humeur, une sécheresse cutanée, une chute de tension artérielle, ainsi que des signes de déficience cognitive. Un cerveau déshydraté travaille plus dur pour accomplir la même quantité de travail qu'un cerveau normal, et il se rétrécit même temporairement en raison de son manque d'eau. L’hyperhydratation ou hyponatrémie, est habituellement causée par une surconsommation d'eau dans un court laps de temps. Un consensus se dégage : la quantité d'eau que nous devons boire dépend en grande partie de notre poids et notre environnement. L'apport quotidien recommandé varie entre 2,5 et 3,7 litres d'eau pour les hommes, et de 2 à 2,7 litres environ pour les femmes. Une plage à ajuster si nous sommes en bonne santé, actif, vieux, ou en surchauffe. Alors que l'eau est l'hydrateur le plus sain, d'autres boissons, même celles qui contiennent de la caféine comme le café ou le thé, reconstituent aussi bien les liquides. Et l'eau contenue dans la nourriture constitue environ 1/5ème de notre consommation quotidienne. Les fruits et légumes comme les fraises, concombres, et même le brocoli contiennent plus de 90% d'eau. En plus de l'eau, il fournissent des fibres et des nutriments précieux. Une bonne hydratation pourrait aussi avoir divers avantages à long terme. My interests and experiences are two-sided: scientific and linguistic. Arabic is my native language. I acquired English from infancy, started studying Spanish in 2010, and passed my French baccalaureate with high honours.
I obtained my MSci and PhD in Chemistry from Imperial College London. My scientific background highlights my research capabilities, attention to detail and ability to reformulate information to present it to an inexperienced audience. I continued studying Spanish at university and obtained my DELE C1 level certification in 2021. After completing my PhD, I started working as a translator, and I have several published subtitling projects for TED. Furthermore, I pursued my interest in science and teaching by working as a private tutor not only in science subjects, but also in languages.
