Bio
Languages are part of me. I was nurtured by
parents who were skilled in several languages with different linguistic backgrounds
which I inherited earlier. Such an environment made me a language magnet and languages
magnetized me. I was longing for English, Arabic, and French but fortunately, I gained
more. What else could one expect from me but being a polyglot, and I am. Since
grammar school, I have been solicited for translation and interpreting tasks and
it was a pleasure for me to help. Bible-related translation/interpretation opportunities were repeatedly given to me and the linguistic adventure grew from there. I challenged myself successfully for
language studies at the English department of Ouagadougou.
Ranging from Bible, church, and pastoral-related, as educational materials to more
complex ones such as medical and engineering, I have been in translation and
interpreting for about 21 years.
It has been a great opportunity for me to side
with Bloomberg journalists, the USA Scorocs microfinance specialists, Google, Meta (Facebook) Tomodes, Future Trans, LWS, Lionbridge, Gientech, TransPerfect, the
Summer Institute of Language (SIL) team, and iEARN USA, to name a few, I led conferences,
Twin Cities’ events abroad and over the phone (Togo, Mali, Ghana, Germany, Nigeria, Senegal, USA) in interpretation and
translation.
Regularly, I took part in training sessions
abroad or online, in training schools, webinars, and seminars to update my language skills.
I have translated, edited, proofread, and conducted SEO tasks, reaching more than 5 000 000 words from English to French or vice
versa, and led several projects from English/French to French, Bambara, Dyula, Mossi, and Fulfulde, Tamashek, Nubian, Baoulé, Fon, Swahili. Apart from these, I stand as translators' recruiter for Buli, Nankani/Nankam, Kasem, Kassina, Bimoba, Swahili, Songhay, Zarma, Tamashek, Twi, Ewe, Fon, Yoruba, Hausa, Gourmantchéma/Gulmancema, Portuguese, Spanish...
