Bio
I have been working as a translator since 1999 and have worked on a variety of translations including anime (subtitle translation and packaging), manga (translation, editing, and proofing), DVD subtitles (English and Japanese), business proposals, licensing contracts, video game localization, and dubbing (also script and annotations for dubbers). I am familiar with both US and Japanese cultures, including humor/jokes and idioms in both languages.

A list of current and former clients (in no particular order) include Shogakukan, Kodansha, Toei Animation, CoMix Wave, Viz, GDH, TokyoPop, Broccoli USA, Digital Manga, Tokyo Foundation, New Generation Pictures.

Please email me for resume.

I was born in the US to Japanese parents and attended Japanese language school in addition to receiving a normal US education for most of my life. I have a BA in Japanese Language and Culture from the University of California, Los Angeles. I have English and Japanese subtitling experience, but I do not own my own software. I also have extensive knowledge of anime and manga industries, as well as video game translation experience (both J>E and E>J, platforms include GameCube, Nintendo DS, PlayStation2, Xbox360, PlayStation3, Wii, and online MMOs).

My rates are competitive and negotiable. I am always willing to work with you on pricing to keep you on budget.
