Italian term

nemmeno fossero bambini

Italian to English Other Sports / Fitness / Recreation
- ... dopo che nei giorni precedenti aveva addirittura raccomandato loro di non leggere i giornali, nemmeno fossero bambini...

= ...even advised his players in the days building up to the match not to read the newspapers, as if they were children.

Is "as if they were children" correct? Thanks !

this must be about Fabio :)

You phrased the translation badly, making it seem as if the newspapers (not the players) were being treated like children

Fabio? Close but no cigar !

I'd say babies. A literal translation from the Italian doesn't work as well. And there is no separate Italian word for "babies".
agree Enza Longo : as if they were children IMO

babies! He was babying the players! "Children" is OK but IMO "babies" is a better translation
