agree Robert Hammer : As you say, in each context the word would be different. I would add a third possibility - Gerontology. While geriatrics refers specifically to the medical specialty, gerontology is a broader term encompassing several disciplines additional to medicine.

Köszönöm. Természetesen a gerontológia szorosan kapcsolódik a geriatrikához, de az előbbi inkább az öregedés folyamatának tanulmányozása és a megadott szövegkörnyezet alapján úgy éreztem, hogy ez egy kicsit kilógna. A kérdező majd eldönti.
