French term

BLO

French to English Science Zoology Categorization of pests
Not much context to offer, I'm afraid: this is from a 'point by point' description of the history of Saint-Paul-et-Amsterdam.

In 1997, it says, 'éradication des rats est des BLOs'

A little Googling tells me the other pest eradicated was rabbits, but does anybody know exactly what the initials correspond to??

Thanks in advance for your help!!

LOL at Tony! Ha ha ha ha; I've been wracking my brains with similar guesses - not much good for the translation, but gave me a laugh anyway!!

You shouldn't mention burrowing animals such as rabbits on a boat. So BLO is to avoid using the word rabbit.

THANK YOU, thank you, thank you!!! I couldn't understand why they didn't just put 'lapins' if that was what they meant!!! Great explanation and refs. Really appreciate your help!
