It may be used when an exposure seems to reduce the risk (in opposition to attributable risk percent), and gives the percentage of cases that can be prevented if a population is exposed to an intervention, compared to an unexposed population.”

"Uitgedrukt in preventieve fractie (percentage laesies dat voorkomen werd door de fluoridebehandeling ten opzichte van de controlebehandeling) was dit alleen voor de D2,3FS laesies net significant (23%; p = 0,05). De fluoridebehandeling had geen beschermend effect voor de tweede molaren, noch was er verschil in de preventieve fractie voor de verschillende predelictieplaatsen."
