I agree with you. "呋喃" is indeed the transliteration of "furan". Transliteration has been frequently used in translation of a lot of organic chemical names. The error "峡喃" should have been avoided very easily.

Another similar organic compound is 四氢吡喃 (tetrahydropyran). Tetrahydrofuran and tetrahydropyran are respective derivatives of furan (呋喃) and pyran (吡喃). Tetra means "four", and hydro- refers to a hydrogen radical.

确实没听说过。检索一下中文科学技术类发表的文献应该可以确认resin 的中文。

孙先生在前面指出过译法，即 resin 译为“树脂”； 我觉得比译为“脂” 更为准确，有别于 Lipid.
