与国外客户或翻译公司合作，貌似需要给他们提供发票？是这样吗

When you take jobs from an agency, they will send you a PO. Use any invoicing tool, such as the one in ProZ, to create and send an invoice according to the amount on your PO. It's done.

是提交账单 Apr 5, 2012

invoice是账单，结账前提交的账单，然后才根据账单给你付款。个人是无需开发票的。

不过我还看有的问是否有any tax documents that can prove you are self-employed, 这又是在问啥呢？

这是要视乎公司的。

有一些agency会有自己一套付款方式，有时可能会叫你下载一个 pro forma invoice 然后发过去；我也试过一个公司要求我给他们开个发票，同时也在paypal上再另外开一张发票。

由于现阶段我并没有自己注册的公司，在北美开发票时我通常会列明”这不能用作退税用途“
