Man or woman, no one should work as a language provider for 10 euros an hour. That's outrageous and should not be tolerated.
Then again, obviously people do it (for whatever reason, most likely because they needed the work?), otherwise Bin would not post this here, huh.
On the other hand, latest news have shown that apparently only TWO (2!!!) qualified Mandarin-English interpreters are present in the province of Ontario, Canada. The reason is simple: they demand a lot from people who want to work as an interpreter (expensive courses/training etc), but the wage is not high ($25 an hour) and comparatively low to the rest of the country (in B.C about $40-45). The attraction therefore isn't high either.
