《蜗居》里的宋思明说，凡是能用钱解决的问题就都不是问题。这种说法颇有代表性。对这些人而言，即使犯了法、甚至出了人命，也还是可以用钱来解决。凡是用钱解决不了的问题，还可以用权来解决。如果没有权，则可以用钱买。这就是为什么有人要说“让我们的儿孙们先富起来”的道理。

最近还报道了瘦肉精、染色馒头、石蜡粉条、海藻酸钠鸡蛋，想起这些日常餐桌上的食物，觉得一阵阵的恶心。如今买食物都怕了，很多商场、菜市上卖的食物都没有安全标识，即便有也未必安全。公共卫生执法人的公信力是一落千丈。

即使我们吃过这些东西，也不知道啊！据说有的粉条里还掺有回收的塑料袋，所以煮不烂。真是匪夷所思！国内卫生机构应加强监督检验，司法机关应严厉查处。不能让“宋思明”有机会用钱来摆平。光喊“加强道德文化建设”是无济于事的。如果在美国发生这样的事情，涉案企业的老板将面临牢狱之灾及巨额罚款。
中国的出口食品应该会好一些，因为有关机构在出口前会把一下关。货物到了美国后，海关和有关机构又会抽查检验。尽管如此，现在我们去华人超市购物时，也还是非常小心，尽量买来自台湾的食品，尽管它们比来自大陆的要贵一些。我们回国时则更加小心。

BTW, this incident was only the lead-in to the investigative report. As I recall, the counterfeit cancer drug was said to have come from Mexico; but where it was actually made was left unanswered. The bulk of the investigative report, however, was mainly of NBC's Chris Hansen traveling to China(HK) to expose the illegal manufacture and distribution of counterfeit drugs such as counterfeit Viagra and Tamiflu.
