How do I write Chinese on a laptop? Thread poster: Thomas Johansson
|
Hello,
I am studying Chinese (putonghua, simplified characters) and am looking for some way to write documents in Chinese on my laptop (using simplified Chinese characters).
I have no idea how people do that. Is there some special software I need?
My keyboard is a normal Western type of keyboard using only the Latin alphabet (QWERTY type, Spanish version). My operating system is Windows Vista (2007, I think). I do have Microsoft Office, if relevant.

it supports many chinese input methods such as Pingyin, Wubi and English (very useful for english speaking users). For example, when you want to input chinese character for "rain" and don't know how to say "rain" in chinese, you could just type rain, then the program will show the chinese character for "rain"

it is free.

input software is one thing, and the Chinese font is necessary, or there would be square when you type Chinese. | | |
