RWS Division:Language Services - recognized as the world’s largest Language Service Provider – helps customers to create, translate, and deliver content across 250+ languages. Our global team of linguists, project managers, subject matter experts and localization professionals work closely with customers to ensure their communications and multilingual content is compelling, accurate and consistent.
About The Role:You will be responsible for delivering translations of the highest quality and accuracy, on time and within budget. You will act as lead translator for large and complex projects and accounts, performing tasks such as planning and managing the work of in-house and freelance translators, taking responsibility for required QA work such as review, and providing linguistic support to your project manager. Reporting to the Translation Line Manager or Translation Manager, you will be responsible for setting and maintaining the highest standards of linguistic and organisational excellence for the translation team. You will actively mentor members of the translation team, to ensure their continuous improvement and skills progression.
Key ResponsibilitiesTranslation of IT and collaterals into your native languageReview (editing and proofing, 'revision') of translations done by other translatorsUnderstanding and correctly complying with RWS's linguistic and project procedures and processesMeeting the required standards for quality, throughput and delivery deadlinesActing as lead translator on designated projects and accountsManaging terminology effectivelyLinguistic QA checking of localised DTP and audio outputUsing required translation tools in the most effective way, especially with regard to RWS’s language technologyFull linguistic support for RWS project managers on your projectsCommunicating as a representative of RWS with client reviewers on linguistic mattersProviding linguistic support for other RWS departments such as DTP, Engineering and AudioAccurately recording daily working time through use of Timesheet program
Competences and ExperienceTranslating competence1 year minimum professional translation/localization experienceEducated to degree level, preferably with a recognised qualification in translation or similar disciplineExcellent translation ability in applicable subject areas, being able to produce translations which are accurate, linguistically correct, consistent, complete and adapted to country standardsHighly quality conscious
