I'd like to see comments and updates about this. It looks too good to be true. Can we hear from people who've tried it? | | | Tomoyuki Kono Verenigd Koninkrijk Local time: 12:38 Lid 2010 Engels naar Japans + ... I hope it takes off but | Feb 10, 2013 |
as a freelancer, the usual scenario is that I get asked to accept the payment methods offered by agencies, not vice versa. Once the invoice reaches my client, I have virtually zero contact with their accounts department. Of course, if I felt very strongly about this, I could go out campaigning for its wider adoption but as it is, I can devote so little time to invoicing and other admin tasks… Does anyone have any experience of using peer-to-peer currency exchange, CurrencyFair and the like? Are there any implications on matters such such as compliance with money laundering regulations? Tomo ▲ Collapse | | | P.L.F. Persio Nederland Local time: 13:38 Lid 2010 Engels naar Italiaans + ... I'm not sure I want to try it. Here's what you can find on their website:
Free international money transfers? But there must be some cost? Surely?
Currently all money transfers made to translators via Translator Pay are entirely free—both for the LSPs and their freelancer translators. From 1st April 2013, all payments over €250 will still be entirely free for both the LSP and the translator. Small payments (less than €250), however, will attract a nominal fee of €1.99 [3].
[3] This same arrangement will apply to USD and British pounds (i.e. a $1.99 fee for payments less than $250 and a fee of £1.99 for payments less than £250). It will be up to the LSP and the translator to decide who pays any fee for small payments.
Not as much as PayPal, but not very appealing either, at least to me. | | | Samuel Murray Nederland Local time: 13:38 Lid 2006 Engels naar Afrikaans + ... Very limited for payments from the US | Feb 10, 2013 |
