Hi All, Last week I requested a non-payer status for a translation agency that was not paying my charges and avoiding any contact. After my negative feedback about the outsourcer on Proz, he paid me immediately the total agreed amount and asked me to change my feedback. Though I have requested for the editing of the LWA ratings, I had also reported him earlier as non-payer. How can I remove this company from the non-payer status since he has paid me n... Unless this was a reasonable delay in payment (a couple of days to a week or so), which I assume it was not, otherwise you probably would not have resorted to the actions you describe above - they don't deserve a "good" LWA. In fact, this is a common method of BB abuse. Outsources don't pay as a policy, knowing perfectly well that only few translators will bother with adding a bad LWA entry. In fact, this is a common method of BB abuse. Outsources don't pay as a policy, knowing perfectly well that only few translators will bother with adding a bad LWA entry. Once such a translator add such an entry they contact them immediately with some excuse, pay them and "request" (or condition) the translator to edit their LWA. Not only that a late payment cannot be considered a payment (did you deliver the work before or at the deadline or afterwards? Would you consider delivering your work later then agreed as acceptable?), but by editing the LWA you unintentionally help mislead other colleagues that upon reviewing the BB might get the wrong impression about this outsourcer. ▲ Collapse | | | gianfranco Brasil Local time: 04:02 Membro (2001) inglês para italiano + ... I think that editing the previous entry is fair, to reflect the fact that you have been paid, albeit later than agreed, but removing any track of the incident is not fair. Edit it, as appropriate, and your case, adding to any other past or future incident, will create a reasonably true profile of their business practices. I also noticed that some outsourcers apply pressure to the translators to remove low ratings, but that is contrary to the Blueboard rule, and we should not surrender to it, in any case. I agree with you both. Agencies just wait and watch when we keep silent and start paying us when we resort to such extreme steps. As far as I understood my previous client, he wouldn't have paid me a dime had I not reported it here. | |

Apart from adding a line about how he "paid once I wrote this entry," I wouldn't change a thing. | | | alex suhoy Ucrânia Local time: 10:02 inglês para russo + ...
