I think I know this term, but would like feedback. "decadico" refers to 10-digit dialing, so I translated "protezione extradecadico" (sic) as "protection against encoding beyond 10 digits".
Does anyone know for sure?

decadico here is for the old pulse and not dual tone multifrequency dialing. As for the "extra" and the protection, need more context, but definitely not your interpretation. The word extradecadico minus kudoz googles zero.
