The full sentence is: a caccia nel tempo e nello spazio,il cane raggiunge quasi sempre la lepre.

hunting through space and time

or perhaps "hunting in space and time".

A whole paragraph of context would be helpful. Also I wonder what sort of book this is - I assume it's fiction, but is it about a real dog chasing a real hare, or is it a figure of speech or something?

Anyway, I think it sounds better with space before time.

agree writeaway : absolutely spot on-space and time/time and space-doesn't really matter me thinks.

searching across time and space

An alternative

Peer comment(s):

neutral writeaway : imho not really an alternative-the imagery of dog, hare and hunting (caccia) is lost with 'searching'. otherwise very similar to first answer

hunting in space over/across the time

of course there may be as many possible translations as you like in poetry and literature. I like mine, for example but it depends on the context if poetry or prose. Good luck!

constanly on the lookout

"constantly on the lookout, the dog almost always catches (up) with the hare";

or:

"constantly alert, the dog almost always catches (up) with the hare"

"Space and time" may sound good in Italian, not so in English!!
