Italian term

metadisciplinarietà

Italian to English Bus/Financial Management management course
From a book on management.

Per lo scientific management il contesto esterno è statico, semplice, strutturato; per lo humanistic management è dinamico, complesso, destrutturato. Per il primo, a livello di produzione, i riferimenti sono la serialità, la standardizzazione, la specializzazione del lavoro e delle mansioni; per il secondo l'originalità, la creatività, la ***metadisciplinarietà***.

No further explanation provided, unfortunately. The first problem is trying to work out exactly what the word means...

Any help much appreciated

agree Gad Kohenov : There is interdisciplinarity, mulitdiscplinarity and metadisciplinarity, which is the corrrect term here.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "thanks JLL, and everyone else. It just sounded so much like classic Italian abstraction that it had to be wrong. But clearly it isn't!"

metadisciplinarity

QUOTE The notion of metadisciplinarity focuses on the recombination of disciplinary systems......translations are inherently imperfect, which is where things get interesting: in the context of the interface ecosystem, practitioners have to resolve the ambiguities between disciplines. They / we have to figure out how things fit together"

translation is ipso facto, a metadiscipline.
