sickle

it must be "clurit" or "celurit".
it is a kind of weapon used mostly by traditional Madurese (compare it with 'rencong' for Achehnese).

other alternative:
sabit (bahasa indonesia)
arit (bahasa jawa/javanese)

both traditional madurese and javanese (usu. with agricultural background) vilagers take \'sabit\' when they go to their fields both for collecting grass for their cattle or for other functions.

but, only traditional madurese have \'clurit\' (larger and sharper than \'sabit\') that mostly used as a weapon.

hand scythe

Cerurit sama dgn celurit, ya . . . jadi padanannya dlm bhs. Inggris "scythe," atau "sickle." Kedua-duanya alat untuk memotong rumput. Boleh dipakai sbg. senjata pencak silat juga.

I think a "cerurit" is the same as a "celurit," which in English can be called a "scythe," or a "sickle" -- a tool for cutting tall grass and weeds. It may also be used as a pencak silat weapon.
