"the existence of a balance between ..." talán az itt használható szerkezet, számos példa van rá ("balance" helyett "interplay", "interaction" is előfordulhat):

Fogjuk meg a dolgot másként, ne a gombhoz keressük a kabátot:

1. az "átjárhatóság" a kérdéses mondatban nem precíz és bevett terminus: a politikai zsargon (munkajog) kliséje
2. viszont bevett nemzetközi munkajogi fogalom az "individual and collective autonomy": e terminus a kabát, amelyhez a gombot keressük.
3. az ellentettje:" tension/conflict [between individual and collective autonomy]", s ez utóbbi egyik lehetséges ellenpárja a "balance between etc." (vannak rá adatok).

interoperabilitás ez a becsületes magyar neve a szónak, amelyet nemcsak műszaki, hanem katonapolitikai értelemben is ismertem a 90-es évek óta tolmácsként: a NATO zsargonban ez egy műveleti képesség.

interoperability Az interoperability jutott eszembe először, csak azt inkább technikai vonatkozásúnak érzem (mint ahogy a hivatkozásban is, rendszerek közötti együttműködési képesség). Itt viszont elvont fogalmakról van szó, nem olyasmiről, ami "működni" tud. Ha megnyugtattok, hogy erre is jó, akkor megfelel.

A szó szerinti (és kifejező) ekvivalens a "permeability", de a leggyakoribb a fenti.

"interoperability between individual and"-re egy adat sincs. A szó nem passzol ide.

disagree Ildiko Santana : Az "átjárhatóság" még nem "exchange", legfeljebb az arra való képesség. Nem mindent találunk meg az interneten, de a kereső kifejezésen sok múlik. Próbáld meg így: "interoperability among" (az EurLexen sok példa van rá, a magyar verziókban "átjárhatóság")

Igen, van igazság abban, hogy az "exchange" inkább "átjárás", de a "permeability" után ez a legkézenfekvőbb ekvivalens, és számos kontextusban neutralizálódhat a különbség.
