My initial answer is yes standardization is a leader. And, yes standardization is a follower.' (...)
'We all know that sustainability is nowadays often used as a marketing argument. Therefore companies develop and implement proprietary ideas. In cases where those ideas are afterwards fed into the standardization process, which means standardization acts as an enabler and follower, that will help to spread these ideas to others and in turn give more gains on a larger scale.'
