Hi Doug, however strange it may seem, the Hungarian "csonk" is a phonetic transcription of "chunk".

: Csonk is not a phonetic transcription of chunk, but a Hungarian word in its own right, with its own etymology. Furthermore, "junction chunk" does not seem to be used in English, and if it were, it would have a different meaning than bekötőcsonk.
