French term

anti-capilarité

French to English Other Textiles / Clothing / Fashion hunting jackets
In a description of a hunting jacket:

doublure anti-capilarité en bas de vêtement

Is this just "impermeable" or something else?

Thanks!

"the material of this lining which is used for the hunting jacket as well, is hydrophobic, or 'water-hating'..."
the MOISTURE-WICKING lining owes its properties to the chemical quality within the microfibers of the fabric.

neutral Tony M : Over-translation: we don't know if it actually uses this specific fabric or not; the fact it doesn't mention it tends to suggest it doesn't. / Yes, but this is the opposite of that — it is ANTI-...

water-repellent

Peer comment(s):

disagree Tony M : That's a quite different characteristic, and probably less likely for a lining anyway.

neutral Marc Brunet : the context ('en bas de vêtement') is a useful pointer to 'anti wicking'; a water-repellent coating would apply to the whole garment, starting with the top, most exposed to rain or the like
