Discussion

silvia karen (asker) Dec 31, 2006:
I found it in a brochure about raising children, so I think it could be a marketing text.
writeaway Dec 31, 2006:
is it a marketing text or a more academic text? ie do you need English marketing hype or is it more straightforward?
silvia karen (asker) Dec 31, 2006:

writeaway Dec 31, 2006:
can you please show how it's used in your context?

neutral Tony M : "to make someone discover something" has an unwanted connotation of compulsion that it does not have in FR / Well, Happy Birthday to you too! In fact, my birthday's in June, must be an error on ProZ somewhere...

Bonjour Tony , happy New Year and happy birthday! Happy birthday to me too, you and I have the same birhday , January first. " makes him" , compulsory , yes...Why not "helps him discover" or "leads him to the discovery"?...
