French term

bande large

French to English Other Printing & Publishing printing paper securities
Hello,

I cant' find an English equivalent to "bande large" (I have just put wide strip in my text) but can't find any entries with this as actual terminology for this field

This is a good link about the "normes" but I can't find an English equivalent:
file:///C:/Windows/system32/config/systemprofile/Downloads/Papiernormen%20(1).pdf

I'd really appreciate it if anyone could tell me what the correct terminology is

Thank you in advance

short-grain

"Paper can be classified into two types, long grain and short grain.
Long grain paper fibers run in the same direction as the long edge of the paper. Short grain paper fibers run perpendicular to the long edge of the paper."

agree Lorraine Dubuc : http://thegriffin.upm-kymmene.com/glossary/fre.php?letter=S&... If you look at Long Grain, you will notice that the German says Schmallbahn which I think short grain corresponds to.
