50MB before compression

Means here before any compression that may reduce quality; in JPEG most often used for pictures, one may choose the size of the image: smaller size is then traded against resolution or quality of details or colours
So the size or "weight" of a digiatl pciture may be estimated only in its native format, ie before compression

agree pirate1965 : I believe this is more correct than the chosen answer. Native mode refers to computer platforms, while "in native format" ("before compression" "before editing" etc.) refers to a file, such as a digital image.
