French term

cartouche

French to English Tech/Engineering Photography/Imaging (& Graphic Arts) used on a website
website language.
I don't think "Title Block" (elsewhere in Kudoz) is appropriate. Could this be a pop-up box?
Here are some examples in the document I'm translating:

- Texte cartouche: Ta question
- Cartouche : Concours terminé
- Texte Cartouche: Shows Exclusifs

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

No, 'title block' is only applicable in certain specific contexts.

However, the idea is exactly the same here: it's a box with text in it; only it's not a box where you enter text (hence not a « zone de texte / de saisie »)

Sometimes, they might be called an 'encadré' — this could be a direct synonym for what you've got here, or there may be some subtle difference.

I think you'll find it hard to find a more precise term unless you can actually see what it really looks like.

This ProZ.com page is full of 'cartouches' of one kind or another.

There's no specific reason to think it might be a 'pop-up box', unless there are other clues in your text to suggest that; it's certainly not a term I've come across used by any of my website customers for their pop-up boxes...
