French term

Règle du 1/10

This rule is referred to in a metrology procedure about rounding. I have found references to a "rule of 10:1", but I'm not sure it's the same thing, and to be honest I'm not finding much about the rule in French, which doesn't help. Can anyone tell me if the "rule of 10:1" is the same thing ?

agree Bourth (X) : Works for me. I hardly think it's a generally accepted rule that is understood without explanation, but it is explained here and is perfectly clear. To make it even more clear, then "THIS one-tenth rule" would indicate it is not a general thing.
